Apr 5/6 - north and south on the ICW

The trip north was in the boat; the trip south was on our bikes; delightful days both.

We had a great day on the water, doing our usual circuit and eating at our usual place, Inlet Harbor.  Sandy and I both had the tuna sliders.  After lunch, however, we made a break with tradition and journeyed to the Dunlawton Bridge and picked up dinner for two nights -- shrimp and triggerfish.  We were prepared with our cooler and ice packs.  That night we had shrimp for dinner with the usual accompaniments -- spinach and rice -- but the rice was a curried version for a change of pace.

The next day Dick and I rode south again into a headwind.  He was a little slower than the first day because I forgot to mention that he did a 30k run prior to going boating.  He's a sucker for punishment !  It was an easy cruise home with a SW tailwind.  We had that triggerfish for dinner.

The weather has been nothing short of perfect, sitting outside.  We can almost count on one hand the number of nice days that we've had but they are now starting to add up.  Unfortunately the weather cools a bit again once Marda arrives, but will still get over 70F.  Today, Monday, it's supposed to get into the high 80's.  It remains to be seen what the weather will be like for our 600k next weekend.

Dick and Nuala check-out from their accommodation here and check-in at the Best Western today.  We are supposed to get out for a pairs bike ride today but that will depend on the weather.  Sandy hasn't been out on her bike in a few years.

Onward !
