May 3 - more big rain

No biking yesterday; that's what I was afraid of.  Sandy did get some gardening done, mostly in her raincoat.

I fussed around with the new version of Versacheck, got my US checks loaded up and the Canadian Cheques almost ready to print.  I have check/cheque stock and do my own printing.  It's cheaper, not that I use a huge number of checks/cheques ! 

I also fussed with the new trailer, planning out how I'm going to setup the bikes in there without spending a huge amount of money on a carrier.  I made a trip to HD and wandered around; it's amazing how different things can be put to other-than-normal purposes.  For instance, 1.5" PVC pipe can be cut in half lengthwise to make a channel for bicycle wheels for such a mount ... overkill ?  overcute ? 

I'm sure that I did other things but don't quite remember.  I need to make a list of all that needs to be done before I go.  I know that I'll think of something mid-week that I should have ordered but haven't. 

I do have to pickup a couple of car batteries, perhaps, or perhaps for the price and the transport weight it's better to pick them up in Canada.  These are for the UPS up north.

What else ? 

We took Chet and Jean to dinner at the club, "welcome to the neighborhood" sort of thing.  We'd been planning to do a block party but they were never around when we were visitor-less.  They've now moved their last load down from GA.  They have a place in Idaho at 6900' close to Jackson Hole where they spend their summers.  That's where I need to go and spend a week prior to doing any bike rides in the high Rockies.  They are an interesting pair.

What else ?  nothing ...

Today, with any luck, boating.  If Sandy doesn't feel that she can spend the time then Abby and I will go out sometime during the week.  I do need to get the car batteries out of the boat.  Perhaps I should simply bring those north and buy new ones for down here ?  That's a thought.
