Sep 30 - winding up & down

Lots to do.

The water is really high so I took advantage of it and moved my big dock over to the beach.  That's the first time in three years that I've been able to do that.  Jason has helped in the last two years after we've left.

I partly unpacked the generator and came to the conclusion that getting the beast into place is as much a part of installation as anything else.  Perhaps I could hire some help; perhaps I could wait for able-bodied men and boys to be around; perhaps I could get a separate plumber; perhaps, perhaps, perhaps ... but it's time to hire the guy who brings the men and the parts, plumbing and electrical, to get the job done in one fell swoop.  I talked to Paul last night and scheduled this for Thanksgiving Day, October 13th.  He brings dollys, men and a truckload of stuff.   In the meantime, I'll take some more pictures so that he has the correct plumbing, take some inside shots so that he knows where the transfer switch will be installed etc.  That way we'll get the planning out of the way before he gets here.  I might even want to pour a small concrete pad ... thinking about that.

I spent a bunch of time yesterday getting caught up on email and Sunshine 1200k issues.  I signed a couple of hotel contracts, (Fort Myers Beach and Lake Wales), still three more to do. I've got documents from Jupiter but they didn't respond to my email yesterday.  I'll call them today.  I've got to decide on a hotel for Daytona and Key West.  Key West is the most complicated because of commitment requirements, i.e. pay in advance.

I brought in some wood (yes, there's a fire on), mostly unloaded the car, did some laundry; mundane stuff.  When I traveled north on Monday the temperature went from 77F in Toronto to 47F here.  The ground is covered with leaves and pine needles.  Yes, it's Fall.

Abby's incision looks a little swollen.  She may be rubbing at it even with the cone of shame.  She's racked up some significant Vet bills ...

My frame is ready at True North.  I've got to see it next week when I'm back to the dentist.  Sandy has lined her cleaning appointment up with mine, so we'll be bouncing around that day.

I told Stef that I'll help her tile her entranceway.  First she needs to do demolition, removing existing tile !  This is going to be a Ditra job.  It's a small 6x8 area, something like that.

Today looks dreary, drizzly ... more inside work, no doubt.

Onward !
