I'm drawing a blank. It was that kind of day.
I made a run to Harbor Freight and picked up a couple of small items and took the Harley out for a spin. Those were the notable things -- not too exciting. I hung the rod holder in the garage to organize the fishing rods (a piece of 4" pvc pipe) ... ha.
Oh yes, I used the blower to clean the droppings from the cedar off the driveway and side deck and then got the scraper to remove some built up organic material off said deck underneath the Confederate Jasmine hedge between us and Gene & Judy ... discovered that some of the boards were rotten ... ended up pulling up a bunch of rotten decking. The question is ... where do I stop. Ideally that whole area would be interloc brick, but that's not going to happen right now.
I think that I was subconsciously trying to block this deck business out of my mind. It's the tip of the iceberg. Stringers lying on the sand in a wet area, no drainage ... guess what, rot. I might remove that section before I'm done. Half of the deck runs perpendicular to the house and it's in reasonable shape (but of course the stringers below are probably in crap shape). The other half runs parallel to the house and it's that part that I've now removed half of the boards.
So ... I've got some deck work to do over the next couple of weeks.
Sandy made a run to the Port Orange fish store and brought home pompano for tonight and shrimp for last night which was paired with (trioed with ?) spinach and rice, our usual.
That's about it ... Onward !
