It was a great day for a ride; ESE wind made for a nice change. Shifting was smoother than the last time out; tinkering and cleaning do help. My combination of shifters, derailleurs, cassette is very touchy.
Sandy worked in the garden, pretty much finished what she plans to do for now.
In Neighbor (and Neighbour) news ...
-- Jill is still pregnant, overdue at this point; Jason and gang head to Costa Rica this coming weekend;
-- Bonnie and Jim have moved out of their place, now awaiting closing later this month;
-- Debbie has had some odd blood pressure issue, normally low it has soared for short periods of time and she's been tested for everything under the sun, all's ok, so it's a puzzle
-- Chet and guests went boating and their boat stalled by the Coast Guard station at the Inlet; CG towed them in but wouldn't let them leave; they were quoted $600 for a tow by Sea Tow but a local fisherman towed them home; they now have towing insurance (I've got it too, runs about $100 per year)
-- apparently Paul and Judy have an offer on their place; we got this from Riley, haven't talked to them directly
-- pretty quiet with Gene and Judy; they were gone for a couple of days but are now back
We should have gone boating yesterday. The breeze has been cool the last couple of days so we didn't think about it but yesterday that little bit of "S" in the wind made it warm. We might go today but that will depend on what the Doppler looks like this a.m. as it's supposed to rain later today (possible thunderstorms).
I talked to Stef last night; we called to say Happy Birthday to Aaron but he was on the trainer inside. He does that pretty intensively, not something that he stops to take a phone call. I wish that I could train that way, would be a much stronger rider. They went to a Roger Hodgson concert the night before and had a good time. I've never actually been to a Rock Concert, if you want to call it that. In fact, I've never been to a Concert -- symphony, yes; theater, yes (and theatre); ballet, yes ... but no concerts.
At any rate ... Onward for now !
