Dec 14/15 - easy driving

What a difference a year makes.  Last year at this time it had been about -20C as we hit Brantford and then came to the cottage.  This year's dreary, foggy, +2-3C is no comparison.

We got to the Davies at a reasonable time on Sunday, dark of course but that's not surprising this time of year.  We got the expected greeting from Chili, no Kim, Gavin, Kyle or Mike this time, although Gav pulled up just before we left the next morning.

Kim is somewhere in Central America, the country changes by day.  She heads to Norway shortly and then back to Brantford for Christmas and then flies to South America.  Amazing.  The only one who comes close to her in travel experiences is Philip's daughter Olivia !  They should compare notes.

We left Brantford after breakfast heading north.  The low cloud stayed in place all the way to the cottage.  We stopped at the Onroute for lunch and again in Parry Sound, fueling up and doing some grocery shopping etc. and got here about 3pm.  By the time we unloaded and I took a brief walk-around tour to check out ours and Davies' properties, it was getting dark.

I was interested in checking out the propane level and it appears that the generator ran for a time but I don't have confirmation re any power outages yet.  It ran for a time and won't start now ... I talked to a service guy and he said that it's probably a minor adjustment to the carburetor choke since it's so new and he'll talk me through it on Wednesday and if we don't get it solved, he'll be here by the end of the week.  I also called for a propane top-up.   I'll have to think about whether we want the generator running when we're not here.  We have no way of monitoring the propane level.

We'll be out of here fairly early heading to Stef's today and then onto Oakville and then back.  After that we sit still for four days.

Onward !
