I'm getting less and less regular with these things; get occupied with something and forget to bang out the blog.
The 13th -- Saturday -- met with Pat Martin at Smith's Bay Road to look at what the MTO has in mind for road work on the hill. They've marked some areas on the sort-of-pavement where they are going to dig out the clay and backfill with rock and gravel, then give it a year and see how it does. That's the plan that we agreed-upon and we'll see how it goes.
Then it was time to leave for Lauren's dance recital in Barrie. We stopped at the mall on Bayfield in Barrie to do some shopping and have lunch and then went to Georgian College, called Stef's cell phone and found them and the theatre. David was there as well, looking far spiffier than the rest of us.
The recital ran almost 5 hours, including an intermission. It comprised 37 different short numbers with kids of all ages, a huge crowd all in all. It was great. Emma was entertained the entire way through.
I took a few photos and of course flash wasn't allowed ...
Lauren is in the centre of this picture, beautiful and grown-up.
The little ones were a riot !
My wide angle wasn't quite wide enough, but this gives you some idea as to the number of dancers/kids involved.
All dancers MUST be presented with flowers after their resounding success :).
We unloaded the car into waiting arms and left for home via MEC Barrie, where I wanted a couple of things; Sobey's in Parry Sound, for groceries and Trappers Inn restaurant in Parry Sound for an excellent dinner.
On the 14th, Sunday, it rained. It rained all day. I did some minor bicycle maintenance, thinking about the upcoming SR600k, organized photos, went to Mass in Britt etc. etc. It was a quiet day.
Sandy heads to Toronto today to get her hair cut, will pickup Emma on the way back and do some minor grocery shopping and stop in Parry Sound to retrieve some wine that's awaiting our pleasure at the LCBO.
With a little luck, I'll get out for a bike ride today. I'm way, way overdue.
Onward !
