What's a first birthday without chocolate cake ?
Dinner was comprised of Peameal Bacon, aka Canadian Bacon, accompanied by rice and something else (I'm drawing a blank !).
Earlier in the day there was lots of activity:
David and I finished off his brakes; he and Jeffrey made a trip into the Port Loring LCBO, so I guess his brakes work. That's a good thing !
The girls played in the cove; I pulled Lauren and Emma around on one of the small kayaks, which make great sit on boards; I took them to Lost Channel for ice cream; the bubble maker got some use ... on and on.
I think that everyone other than the kids crashed / snoozed at some point during the afternoon, in shifts.
The A/C is getting good use but, as usual, it cannot keep up. It does make a difference though as it only gets up to 74/75F in the house vs the setting of 72F and the outside temperature in the 80's.
The lake is busy, by one measure at least -- with many people up at their cottages. That was obvious on the trip to Lost Channel. Water traffic is limited though, which is great. We are not Muskoka and never hope to be !
Onward ...
