Jul 28 - and a good time was had

The day started out relatively quiet but the volume grew.

David went into Sudbury and did some shopping odds and ends, including baby food and brake pads for Jeffrey -- now that's an interesting combination !

Lauren started the boating test, which is a long drawn out thing, forcing you to spend oodles of time per section.  She got through two sections yesterday and I hope that she gets back at it today.

Stef, Aaron and Mya arrived around 11:30 a.m. and the action immediately moved outside.  They were all out on the kayaks; even Aaron's ocean-going kayak saw some action.  I also pulled Lauren and Emma on the little kayak.

The little kayaks have been a huge hit.  That was a true team effort among Stef (spotting), David (paddles) and Sandy (picking up kayaks).  I was the manager.

Matthew wasn't interested in the beach at all ... perhaps another day.

Ah ... I guess Zoe is having fun !

Jeffrey plopped Matthew in my lap at one point, tending Zoe, I think.  I did a little experimentation ... selfies are a little difficult with the SLR, but possible with a good armchair.

 Emma, high speed kayaking !

 Lauren's turn !

Abby got in some swimming too.

A little horseplay in the water ...

 Even Mya saw some action.

 A crowd ...

While all this action was going on outside with the kayaks, Sara and Zoe got some much needed rest.  They were both well behind in their zz's.  Sandy prepped for dinner.  Later I got the big burner going for the deep fried turkey.  It takes a good 45 minutes to heat the oil and just under an hour to do a 17 pound bird.  I could have cut the cooking time a little but it was delicious.  Stef brought beans from her garden.  Jason brought fries for the fryer and Lorraine brought desert.  Kim took tapenade home .. hmmm.

I'm not sure what's on tap for today.  I imagine that it will start out a little slow and build; it always does.

Onward !
