Aug 5 - how much wood would a woodchuck ...

I spent all day moving, sorting and organizing firewood.  Yes, I did "chuck" some of it, leaving a pile for Gavin's campfire.  I finished filling the box close to the house, filled the box in the house and cleaned up the messy piles in front of the woodshed.  There is still the pile behind, which I may move inside once Jason has removed his firewood, but it's not going anywhere so that's no big deal.  Going forward, I probably need to limit the amount of firewood on hand to what fits in the woodshed.  Any more than that is a waste.

Sandy didn't get back until almost 7:30 pm, at which point I was preparing for my Randonneurs Ontario conference call.  She'd had dinner with Angelika, done her hair, toes, face, fingers ?, had lunch with Joyce and picked up some groceries, a successful trip, all in all.

Today she's likely to make a quick trip to Parry Sound.  Abby was pretty lethargic yesterday although by  the end of the day she was perking up.  Perhaps the side effects of the anti-inflammatory are finally starting to wear off; we sure hope so !  She's still itchy at her butt and we've got her wearing the cone of shame so she doesn't worry at it.  That itchiness could very well be just carryover, healing.  She ate reasonably well yesterday but I had mixed in a treat, a thinly sliced wiener.   Sandy had talked to the vet about doing some blood tests -- not sure why we haven't already done that -- just to eliminate anything else going on, which is why she'd make the trip.

I plan on going for a ride and starting to pack my bike, if not finishing.  It's flat calm right now; the sun's out and it's 50F / 10C ... typical August day.

Onward ?  Upward ? I hope so !  We're worried about Abby, obviously, and Sheryl is worried about tending a sick dog.  We want her to be stable, at least.  We head to Hemmingford on Monday and fly out on Tuesday.
