Whether traveling or at home, we do eat well. I used to always mention what we had for dinner, in the blog, but often forget now. Just as there is a sameness to eating poorly, there can be a sameness to eating well.
Last night was no different. When at Costco the other day, I checked out the meat section and the lamb chops looked particularly good. They also had lamb roasts and the usual racks; all were from Oz. I'm not sure why that is but don't particularly care.
The lamb chops were thick and well trimmed. Sandy's not a big lamb fan but she does like the ribs, well trimmed, marinated and on the grill. I thought that perhaps these chops might also make the grade ... and they did ! Sandy did the marinade all day yesterday and I grilled them to pinkness perfection. They were wonderful.
Sandy also did some new potatoes for herself; I grilled a portabello mushroom; frozen peas accompanied. Now frozen peas wouldn't be on any gourmet menu but they are good, easy and particularly when there's nothing else in the house, fills the bill !
The prior night we had pickerel from Tarini's in Sudbury. Also excellent, not quite as fresh as Dave-caught, but good nonetheless. I haven't been able to bring myself to go fishing alone ...
