It was time for telephone calls and appointments.
I called for the colonoscopy, first, as it might be hardest to schedule. I still haven't had a call back. Rats. I'll try again today.
Actually before that, I called Arnstein Garage and he said "oh, we're a little slow at our banking, will let you know if there's a problem" and then she called later to say that she'd just done the deposit the day before. Small towns ... small businesses ... gotta love them !
Next up, physical, was surprised to get an appointment mid November. Now I have to get over there and get my labs done. Then I called Gundian, urologist and spent forever on the phone. He's moved to the Mayo clinic in Jacksonville and as he's a robotic surgery specialist, that's likely good for him. Getting a routine examination scheduled could only be accommodated for an existing patient, which I am, but is unusual. I bounced around among three people who took my information (filling in forms verbally) and set it up for a couple of weeks hence.
I then called Superior Propane as Generac (still working on that one) wanted original invoices sent directly to them by SP ... and they obliged. I don't know if this one is going anywhere but I'll keep at it.
I haven't called the Dermatologist yet; was waiting for these others.
Oh yes, and there's one other Doctor's appointment ... Sandy set out for Home Depot and was back shortly thereafter with the X5 showing a "check engine". I looked at it with the code reader and figured that it would clear itself. Nope. She called a while later that she'd stopped just on the other side of the US 1 overpass because the car had gone into "limp mode" (my term). Rats. I drove out to her and we swapped cars; she followed me home. Sure enough, limp mode returned a few minutes after restarting the car.
I called my rep at Fields BMW and then decided that there was no point in waiting for a response, I might as well head out there ... make that "we". I also figured that it might be better taking I95 as I could probably maintain a constant speed in limp mode better than along US 1 stop and go. We headed out. My chief worry was merging onto I95 but traffic was almost nonexistent and I had lots of time to accelerate. Sandy followed me with the four-way flashers on; probably not necessary as I wasn't that much under the speed limit.
To add to the fun, Cassie was in the M5 in her kennel and upchucked. She'd been munching on some mangrove leaves while I was trimming and the M5 does take corners tighter with some drivers ... like Sandy ...
Naturally I didn't hear back from my call to BMW. My rep was at lunch when we got there. Hopefully today they'll be able to do diagnostics. If any parts are required, I won't get it back until sometime next week.
Oh yes, did I mention that when Sandy brought the car back the first time it had 107,000 miles on it ? Did I also mention that the extended warranty ran out at 100,000 ? Is that a coincidence ?
Onward ...
