As usual, I forget things. This one I remembered as I pulled out to head to the gym. That's because Gene's boat was staring at me, on my trailer.
We took of the side bunks so that the boat would fit the trailer and then loaded it up in Edgewater. Being v-hull and heavier, it would need some changes to be the permanent trailer for this boat.
1) It would need heavier duty wheels and tires. The boat probably weighs close to 2000 pounds fully equipped, (Gene's estimate), perhaps not, but the tires are only rated for 800 pounds each. It may be closer to the weight of my Bayliner, including trailer, at 1600 pounds but at any rate, I'd up the rating.
2) the bunks / sliders under the boat have to be raised with higher brackets and there needs to be a center roller. Right now the front is sitting on the metal cross bar.
3) the bracket that holds the winch needs to be moved forward several inches to put more weight on the tongue. There's probably only 40 pounds, perhaps less, on the tongue now and I'd have it closer to 100 lbs which would make it more stable pulling.
At any rate, it's out of the water and Gene is able to clean it up and then, hopefully, get it sold. He's going to disclose the trailer issues; he's that kind of guy (and so he should !).
----------
I decided to look up the boat and motor and I'm coming to 1609 lbs, so I don't feel so bad. Add some fuel and the weight of the trailer and it's definitely overweight, but not by as much as I thought.

Gene has been diligently cleaning his boat, hoping for a sale to these people who are interested in it. Apparently two couples want to share ... best of luck to them ! That's even worse than a shared driveway !
Cassie got a Skiff ride and a walk. Of course the Skiff ride comes with Chuck-It and swimming.
I went to Publix to pick up a couple of things and Sandy texted me that I'd only been gone a couple of minutes before she was eating my junk mail. Hmmm. Separation anxiety ? P'd off because I left her ? She only goes after my stuff. We're now living with a gate in front of the bedroom door and anything useful that was on my table in the living room up high. Little kids are easier to control ! I sure hope that she grows out of this or at least continues to limit it to my stuff and junk mail.
The new iPhone SE is behaving itself so I've listed the old 5. I listed it at $90 with $120 buy-it-now, ebay-calculated-shipping. Within one minute I had a bid and a query from someone asking if I'd agree to $110 including shipping to NYC. Well, I said to him (or her), effectively you're asking me to take a buy-it-now of $100 when eBay has a higher guaranteed price ? Give me a break ! Of course I didn't say Give Me A Break, simply said "thanks for the offer, but no".
I got more queries on items, including the Lynskey. Someone is interested in many of the attached parts to the Lynskey as well as the frame and fork. That's good. He'll have to win the auction first though.
I also got a query on the shoes from someone saying that they can buy them elsewhere for $59 whereas I'm asking $50 + $17 shipping. Ebay is calculating the $17. He offered me $35 $5 shipping. $5 ? USPS charges more than that. The absolute minimum Priority Mail package is $5.75 and this will certainly be more. I think that it's BS as these shoes are at least a couple of model years old. I suspect that someone might be selling them for $59 but not his size. I asked him to send me the link. If he is correct, I'll happily deal but I suspect that I won't hear from him again. I'll re-list at a lower price if they don't sell. Eventually they will.
The Stargate SG1 boxed set doesn't have a bid nor, at this point, do the shoes, a seatpost and the handlebars. Eventually this stuff will sell.
I've got most of it in boxes awaiting the end of these auctions, which is later today, other than the iPhone 5.
So ... I cut up a chicken into quarters and cooked that on the grill along with asparagus and, for me, eggplant. Sandy had some roasted potato wedgies - Nana Fries.
Another day was done.
Today we have Jason, Lorraine and Kim arriving, staying through Sunday when they'll head to their rental in the Orlando area. We've got some things planned for/with them while they're both here at our place as well as in Orlando, e.g. Disney.
Onward !
