Jul 19 - off to the chiro

The trip to Sudbury dominated my day.  Of course I spent more time in Costco than with the Chiropractor.  It remains to be seen whether the chiro has helped -- this morning I feel quite beat up.

Before I left, the power went out and the generator kicked in, just as it's supposed to.  The power came back on before noon, based on what I heard from Sandy, so it had been off a little under two hours.  When I called to report, I was an early bird; when I called later, they system reported 1412 customers affected.  Jason powered up his generator so that they had running water and then he closed up and left; plans to be back on Saturday.

I picked up salmon for dinner and a ton of other stuff.  Sandy will do her run on Friday as we stock up for the crowd arriving Sunday.

So, at this point it looks like we'll be three through Saturday (me, Sandy and Lauren), going to 10 on Sunday (Jeffrey, Sara & Kids / David & Vanda), 12 on Thursday (Stef and Aaron) and 14 on Friday (Kylie and Chris) and through the weekend.

We're planning a fry-up; bought oil at Costco yesterday.  Hopefully we can team up with Jason for that -- turkey or wings/legs + fries.

There wasn't much more from yesterday ... I'll try and get on the bike today, whether that's the trainer or a short stint on the road.

Speaking of roads, it's slow going.  They're re-doing about 5 kms of stone chipping on 522 and traffic is held up accordingly.  The new section on 69 is only partially open and it's one way across the French River bridge; more hold-ups.  Eventually it will get better but in the meantime, it's a mess.

I got a few comments back from my HC 1200k blog post.  John, the organizer, comment that it made him tired just reading it !  Yes, it makes me tired just thinking about it.  I went to bed at 10 p.m. last night and got up at 6:45.  I'm still recovering.  I picked up some Benadryl yesterday and took some before hitting the sack, hoping that it will help with the allergic reaction after-effects.

Sandy and Lauren went out for a kayak ride while I was gone.  They tried leaving Cassie outside but she went in the water and started swimming to them -- that's what Vickie would do !  So ... back in the house for Cassie.  They had left Cassie out before, but Jason was here vs being left alone.

What else ... drawing a blank ... onward !
