Sep 15 - puttering

I puttered with my bike, taking it up to Osprey Road and checking it out.  I puttered around the yard.  I puttered here and there.  I should take up golf !

I did put on a fire, which kept the place warm during the day and overnight, even though it had died down by dinner time.  That wood stove holds a lot of heat with the sandstone surround.  It's 48F outside right now and 73.6F inside.  '

I'm mostly packed for my trip to Ottawa, the 200k tomorrow that sounds like it will be wet and the club meeting on Sunday.  Kanata seems like a fairly compact place, if you're close to the 417 -- having dinner with Meagan and Tim tonight close to the hotel; ride starts close to the hotel; church for Mass Sunday a.m. is close; meeting is close; Costco is right there too and I'll stop in as I head out on Sunday, or at least that's the plan.

Sandy went out for a long kayak ride in the afternoon and soon afterwards, I started a new project -- moving rocks.  I want to build up a rocky base to the water-side of the breakwater logs that my Dad put in place years and years ago.  I don't think that they're shifting any more but they have been pushed outwards.  I'm thinking of putting some decking in that area and would want to deal with the outside first.

The little dock is basically sitting on the ground.  I should have tipped it up and replaced the floats on it before the ice removes even more of its underside.  It may very well break up if I try and tip it.  Perhaps next summer ?  I've already got a full agenda for next summer !  Yikes !

I also finished up / polished up the spreadsheets and presentation for the club meeting.  Once back here, I'll have to finish up the year-end - P&L, Balance Sheet, Budget, Retained Earnings statement.  That always takes a few hours but if I do it before the end of September (our fiscal year end), I can account for all known transactions and have fewer outstanding.

I'm off to Ottawa around 11am ... southeastward ho !
