Oct 2 - pounding

Well, this is more about Oct 3, but I've been pounding out emails since 4am, getting to people for this RUSA Board thing.  It occurred to me as I was doing it that at no time in the past has anyone ever asked me for my vote.  Why is that ?  Are people shy ?  If they really want to do this, why don't they devote some time to a campaign ?  Will they have time to contribute if they don't have time to get out a few dozen emails ?  Perhaps they are two-finger typists and couldn't get it done ?

Anyway, that's underway and I'm getting positive feedback from people and groups, with key people willing to help with my campaign.  I hope that I'm not overdoing it !  It takes about 300 votes to get in ... there are two possibilities for embarrassment -- less than 100 votes and more than 500.   Close but no cigar would be annoying !  Close but squeaking by would be ok, but I'd rather have a good showing.  It's like Bush vs Gore, however, when all is said and done, someone wins and someone loses.  Anything else doesn't matter.

Yesterday -- off to Mass and back; had another go at making mozzarella (better but not quite); writing emails; getting out with the Merc 25 (running like a top); not much else comes to mind.  The emails took a bunch of time, or rather, chasing down email addresses and getting prepped.  I didn't want to start my barrage until the voting was open.

The next few days are supposed to be great, weather-wise.  I plan to get out on the bike and continue to get the place ready for close-up.

Onward !
