Nov 8 - catching up

Depressed by the election results.  Enough said.

I finished off the plumbing that I had in hand and then, of course, something new cropped up -- no power on the dock.  Before that, Sandy had said that the garage door wasn't working, which I tracked to a tripped breaker.  Well, that turned out to the the electrical wire going to the dock that was cut along with some concrete.  It's still cut, so the dock isn't on the garage circuit any more.

I had to run more conduit from the back of the house to the dock.  I have no idea what's on that circuit but it had to be done.  I'll flip breakers at some point and see what else goes off.  The only other choice is a "home run" as the electricians call it -- a new run from the panel to the dock, which would come out the same place in the back to the junction box.

Work continued out the back, with wall block around the garden and supporting the upper level of the deck (dining room level).  A couple of guys worked all day long hauling fill gravel.  At the end of the day some more irrigation plumbing was needed; Dave to the rescue.

It's lucky that Home Depot is so close !

Of course I had Jessica and Sandy did her hour at the gym.  I also had a massage scheduled but he had to cancel with a heavy cold that he didn't want to share ... that's good !  I'm not sure if the massage will do anything for my back but I'm willing to try.

... and we voted.  There was no queue.  I had a 1/2 hour snooze around 11pm and then stayed up until it was clear that Hillary wasn't going to prevail in MI and PA.  Ugh.  We're going to have a President that was a laughing stock around the world ... now I expect that there's only shock ... no one's laughing any more ... and the stock market will tank.

Onward ... I hope.
