Jan 3-5 - boy am I behind !

I'm having a hard time keeping up the Blog !

Jeffrey left early on the 3rd and later, I gave the snow blower another workout.  I got the car packed and did my part of organizing; Sandy cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. 

Thank heavens for checklists; as long as you actually look at them !

We left around 10 am on Wednesday, making it to Erie PA around 6pm, driving through lots of snow, blowing snow, and generally wintry weather.  The only clear time was in the Toronto vicinity.  Two miles from our destination and we ground to a halt with a major accident ahead and road closure.  We made it off the road to an exit and spent an hour crawling to the hotel.  We had a quick dinner and then I jumped on my first RUSA call. 

Lots of drama but two hours later and we had new officers elected, passed the motions that we wanted and turned down the ones that we didn't.  There were way too many 4/3 votes but hopefully that will change and we'll work more as a team going forward.  I'd sparked a lot of controversy by killing a project that the prior board had initiated ...

Today's drive was easier; we're now in Orangeburg SC, but we still had a lot of snow to contend with and on/off messy roads until we got to SC.  However, it's now 50F+ and we're out of the woods and cold :).

I've got another conference call tonight; this time with Randonneurs Ontario regarding the Granite Anvil.  We open registration on the weekend.  More fun !

Tomorrow afternoon we'll be back in NSB and off the road for a few days.
