Nov 11 - it's still the 11th

We haven't made the date jump yet.   I have setup my "world clock" on my iPhone.  While we think of Sydney as being 19 hours ahead of here, CA, perhaps it's easier on the brain to instead think of it as being 5 hours behind (or 8 hours behind EST).  Our bodies don't know dates, per se, and the time shift is all about the body clock.  In that sense, the difference between EST to Sydney is about the same as EST to Tanzania -- 8 hours behind vs 8 hours ahead.   Perth is another three hours so that becomes the biggest changes, reserved for our trip back !

Oh yes ... I haven't checked into our flights yet ... need to do that.

We visited a bunch and then Arlene went to pick up Ira at his apartment, returning here.  We then went to Riverside, a half-hour drive away (but it was longer in traffic) and did the hike up Mount Rubidoux.  It's not really a mountain, call it a knoll ? but it's a park with walking trails.  Ira has put on weight and I worried about him on the 2 mile upward walk, but he made it.  We then returned to San Jacinto and went to Applebees for dinner and Arlene made the trip back to Ira's.  It was a long day for her.  She and Ernie got up with me before 4am and she went to bed long after me last night.

Today ... Mass and then Pacific Pallisades and then LAX and then off to Sydney.

Onward !
