Nov 16 - more adventures !

It was the day for the bridge climb.  The procedure was fascinating -- a jumpsuit, waist harness, headset, always attached to the bridge and all the bits and pieces always attached to you.  Groups of about 15 go through the entire procedure of gear assigned, changerooms, practice climbing with the cable runner, radio and headset check, on and on.  At least 1 hour of the 3+ hour journey was simply prep.  Like any good tour guide, our man Richard, who has been doing this for 19 years, was constantly in our ears.  He was also the photographer as we aren't allowed to bring anything - no cameras, phones ... not even a watch.  They leave you nothing that you could drop or throw and you're so securely attached that it would be a real challenge to jump.  You'd have to somehow get the hardness off because you cannot unclip from the running steel cable. 

After that, it was lunch time and then we strolled down to the opera house and took that tour.  Finally it was wine time and we imbibed by the opera house and did our 40 minute walk back to our hotel.

For dinner we tried this hot pot place that we'd seen where you cook at the table.  It didn't work out for Sandy, much too spicy.
