... well sort of. We first went east of Perth and climbed a waterfall that was on Kylie's bucket list. That took a couple or so hours. Then we started south towards Margaret River, having a convenience store lunch along the way.
It took a good three hours to get to our Canal Rocks reservation in Yallingup, a beautiful spot right on the ocean. The apartment is spartan but clean and spacious.
A few minutes there and we were off to Margaret River proper to find dinner. Some wandering later and we found Katchup, which was much better than the name would imply !
Back to the ranch, we caught up on email and went to bed.
Before we left for dinner, Sandy had booked a half day wine tour for today. It remains to be seen how that will work out. To me, we'd be just as successful, and a whole, whole lot cheaper, simply pulling into some wineries.
Part of the issue, of course, is that I cannot really enjoy any tastings and then undertake a four hour drive back to Perth. I was tired enough on the drive here yesterday without any wine ...
A far better plan would have been wine tasting yesterday and heading to the waterfall today !
I've been unsuccessful scheduling any Uber car to pick us up at Neil's. We may simply get Kylie up at 2am. Other options include hotel by the airport (nothing really close) or renting another car. This part if the trip hasn't worked out very well.
Other alternatives such as booking another rental car or a hotel all take time and multiple trips and eat into any possible sleep time.
Ugh. I can't even check in for the flight because Sandy doesn't have her passport with her; she didn't bring her purse.
Oh well...
