Mar 13 - making progress

I got my Brazil tickets booked with Latam.  The AA flight is run by Latam and was $300 more.  I called Amex and they could only come up with the higher price.  The Latam site was having trouble bringing up the seat map.  I ended up booking with Orbitz.  Unlike other airlines, they don't charge more for either seat selection or special seats, so I've got economy & exit row, the next best thing.

That's two down.  Venice and Brazil. I've still got to deal with Japan and Oz/Israel.

I heard from Hamid that he's likely not going to do Brazil.  It will be a difficult ride, but that's not the only reason.

For the European trip, I've got a query into a German place re a car rental.  There are restrictions vis-a-vis driving into some countries like Bosnia & Serbia, so that has to be sorted out.  They also handle leases, which might be another option for that length of time.  Details, details.

There are no hotels booked at this point ... that's yet to come. Booking flights locks in dates which then puts boundaries around car rentals and hotels.  Step by step ...

Sandy & Lauren were back after 11pm, as expected.  They'd watched the fireworks at Magic Kingdom and then it takes a while to get out of that park and to the car - ferry or monorail, tram etc.  Mobs of people just happen to be in the way of an easy exit.

I had a cool (as in temperature) ride north and then back through Daytona, taking in the wonders & sounds of bike week.  Jim and Sheryl followed some of that route but we didn't see each other.  They were here playing with Cassie when I got home.  Cassie and I had a quiet night together.  I made popcorn, for a change, much to Cassie's delight.

Onward !
