We had a busy day. First we walked to the start of the hop on / hop off red bus, went a couple of stops and then switched to the blue tour. Around we went into old town and then got off and walked up to the castle. It's not a castle in the traditional sense of the word with turrets, but a castle nonetheless. We toured the cathedral and various other parts of the castle grounds, then back down to where we might catch the tour bus again, but walked to Charles Bridge, had some lunch and then did the hop on. That was back in old town square and we took the blue bus to where we could switch to the red bus. Ok, I admit that I snoozed through most if not all of the red tour and then we were back close to our hotel.
We had dinner nearby and then took in Swan Lake, which we'd booked the night before. It was a low key affair, choreography different than either of us remembered, in fact I'm sure that they chopped out some of the music as well. Interesting anyway, we were out of there not much more than 1.5 hours later ... definitely an abridged version !
That was it. Today we are spending another day in Prague. We'll wander. It's going to be hot again. We are now thinking that we'll head for Budapest next and then back to Vienna, rather than the other way around.
Eastward ...
