Some heavy rain is good this time of year. 24 hours later the lake level is up. 24 hours later I can move my dock into the cove ... and I did. No point in waiting until the water is low !
Matt Carter popped over, invited, for a glass of wine at 5pm. He's a prompt guy - was here about 4:58 :). We chatted until after 7:30 and then rushed to have some dinner. We had a few slices of peameal the night before and so cutting a few more slices and throwing those on the grill was easy. Green beans, nuke a potato for Sandy, a bit of leftover mashed cauliflower for me and a grilled portobello ... it's amazing what you can do in 15 minutes working as a team :).
Matt has just retired from Nova Chemicals in Sarnia. His wife Shelly (sp?) was with their daughter or daughter-in-law and a newborn, so he's up here alone. He's an interesting guy, really into history ... current affairs, not so much :). History is always interesting as the "alternative facts" are fewer since history is written by the winner.
Sandy and Cassie went for a walk, getting back just before the rain. More rain has just moved overhead, looking at the Doppler. There could be more coming. I squeeze in some ball throwing with Cassie in between the drops. I had used the blower to clean the deck the day before and it's worse now than when I started.
I'm trying to remember if I did anything else useful ... nope. There must be something, but nope, or at least not that I remember. I did move something like 50 wine bottles (!!!) in cases up to the car earlier in the day, prepping to take them in for recycling. I'd like to say that was X number of years worth of wine bottles but that wouldn't be true.
What else ? Time for breakfast for me and Cassie.
