I made a quick trip into Sudbury yesterday, picking up some screw-eyes and larger hooks that I couldn't find in Port Loring and finishing up the gazebo tie-down, and up. It will be a lot easier next year, I keep telling myself, assuming that this setup survives the winter.
For two days, I've taken Cassie on walks back into the bush, following the paths. The first day was simply out and back to "Lake Louise" (not really it's name but we all call it that) and yesterday, down the path closer to the end of the road, following to the other side of the lake and then back again and linking to the path that comes out between us and Davies. Cassie runs and runs and runs, looping back whenever I call her but once yesterday she went far afield because she assumes that I'm tracking one path and she's following another. She has a good time but I was worried for a bit yesterday.
With the gazebo finished, the smaller dock is now in place in the cove but I'll adjust its ties. The battery is out of the Bayliner and sitting on the 4-wheeler, awaiting transport to the basement. I have yet to pull the battery out of the Whaler, in case it's used again before we leave but the weather is looking wet on the weekend.
There isn't much else to do outside. I'd toyed with the idea of running a Cat5e cable up to the barn but that seems like a lot of work if it's to be buried and inside a conduit (aka hose) of sorts.
I did ride on Tuesday and hope to get out today. My bike is up in the barn and it's next stop is inside the trailer. It's almost that time.
Onward !
