Apr 16 - rain

Unusual these days.  Rain until late afternoon.  I did have a window of opportunity to take the skiff to the sandbar with Cassie and, after that, do some more mangrove trimming.  Hey ... it keeps me busy !

Tuna the night before, Pompano for dinner, we've been eating well, as usual. We have never had as reliable a supply of good fish from OceanS Seafood.  (Yes, that capital S is correct). Often we've had to fallback on old reliables like flounder, but not during this lockdown.    I suspect that their normal suppliers don't have restaurants to fill so OceanS is staying well stocked.  Debbie and Harris have also found the store and are eating more fish.   Sandy says that they're doing a great takeout business as well.  Normally they do a brisk eat-in business at the few tables in the store - kind of like takeout to your local table - but not these days.

Yesterday we had a huge west wind; upcoming, we have a huge east wind (like 25mph), but dry.  My plan is to get out on the bike.

We have a couple of trees down at our northern abode.  Art Y let me know and I talked to him live.  On either side of the driveway leading to the "barn" (the big garage), we had a basswood on the Osprey Road side and a maple on the other.  The basswood was on its last legs.  The maple was hollow at the base.  It didn't take much wind.  They are now across the driveway, having fallen away from the barn, thankfully.  Art is going to cut a 10' path through for me and I'll cut and split once we're up.  I'll need things to do for two weeks anyway, while we are quarantined. 

I talked to Jason.  They are planning on going up next week sometime.  He will do a few things for me including rebooting the modem and router, which have been offline for more than a month ... maybe two.  I'm going to set those up the same as here, with a mechanical timer that powers them down for 15 minutes daily. 

After I hung up with Jason, Sandy asked me how many people were in their house now ... but I'd forgotten to ask.  I'm guessing Kim, Gavin & Amanda but I'm not sure.  All the studio work is shut down right now so Gavin is sitting that out; Amanda's teaching is on hold; Kim can't go anywhere :).

Onward ?  Another day approacheth !
