May 12/13 - long meeting

It happens.  Lots to discuss at the RUSA board meeting.  Lots of work to do.  Keeps me occupied !

During the day, I was over at mangrove island chop, chop, chop.  That's it, as far as I'm concerned, island-wise. After that, I took Cassie to the sandbar.  The wind was blowing like crazy from the east and is again this morning.  If I ride today, it's going to be a challenge.

I did six hours work on the chimney flashing ... not. The fellow from AWS did that work.  I was the inspector !  He peeled back shingles and definitely found the source of the leak as there was a rotten piece of plywood.  That's now been replaced, the sticky water shield down (up north we call it ice and water shield), chimney flashed and roof reshingled, basically a 6'x6' patch.

I was pretty tired after the mangrove works.  Pushing my way through, sweating like crazy, climbing up onto the branches and roots, hacking off big limbs, it's quite a chore.

We eat well.  Tuna last night.  Sandy goes to OceanS every 2nd day, give or take.  When we went yesterday she also brought back lane snapper for tonight.  It's time for another Publix run ... Amazon won't deliver milk.  Tomorrow night we'll eat at the Tiki.  The weather looks ideal.

Sandy has a couple of appointments, one today and one tomorrow and then one at the end of May, annual mammogram.  No concerns but like to keep up with these things.  I guess we'll find out in another week what's happening at the Canadian border, whether the current "essential travel" will be extended.  Either way, I'll call CBSA to check on the likelihood of getting across the border.  It's a long way to drive to be turned around.

Onward ? hope so.
