I did some organizing yesterday, thinking about our eventual trip north. We don't know yet whether we'll be able to cross the border, but I've started thinking about our packing strategy. While that might sound odd, there are questions: spare tires, bicycles (one or two) - all have a bearing on what will fit in my little trailer. I moved some things to the trailer, some things out. I packed some things onto upper shelves, stuff that we don't need, because we need floor space to close up. Many things are moved inside - outside furniture, grill, kayak ...
Cassie got a trip to the sandbar but no walk. It was Sandy's day for upstairs weight work. Sandy and Cassie just left a minute ago for their Saturday a.m. walk.
We ate at the Tiki, eating under the covering. Toward the end of our dinner, it started sprinkling outside and tables were moved ... social distancing compromised. In general traffic at the Tiki is light. The SYC has an older membership and therefore more susceptible to the pandemic. Even though the monthly minimum is small ($60), that would encourage people to come out, so the SYC board is still waiving that minimum. Besides, with the dining room and inside lounge not open, limited Tiki menu, seating and days open, it's unrealistic to think that everyone could spend their minimum.
I hope to ride today but there are scattered thunderstorms. I might wait until tomorrow.
David was thinking about going to the cottage this weekend but has deferred to mid week when the weather looks to be glorious up there, if you could ignore the black flies which will be in clouds.
Onward !
