May 7 - tough ride

Well, 95 one day, 65 the next.  I was cold !  25mph gusty north winds ... 3:45 to the turnaround point; 2:00 back ...

Otherwise, not much happening.  Pompano then Mahi Mahi.  Let them eat pork, beef ... we'll do well on fish ! 

I continue to tinker with the online camera, setup of the Linux and Windows machines.

Traffic on the water has calmed down, with things reopening.  I went to Walmart this morning to pick up some cheese, distilled water and frozen veggies.  It wasn't busy at all.  Riding home through Ormond and Daytona Beach, there was very little traffic and very few tourists.  Parks and parkettes were open.  Flagler Beach had the beach open but not the boardwalk or pier. 

There were two Walmart employees stationed at the entrance/exit - one with her face mask on her chin, the other below her nose.  They just don't get it.  I don't remember whether all employees inside had masks or not.  I think that it was a mixed bag.  The one at the self-serve cash did.  I remember because the machine "burped" and wanted to be cleared. 

The temperature is back up today, winds moving to the south.  That's a far cry from what Jason, Lorraine and Kim are experiencing at the cottage - two days ago, apparently, Kim was jogging with sports bra and shorts.  This morning there's 8" of snow on the ground and it's still coming down.  It's fluffy stuff but snow nonetheless.  I'm sure that snow in May isn't unheard of ... but it's unusual !  We're happy to be in Florida !
