I did some more cleanup on the watering system, eliminating an elbow and the tiny pressure tank and that improves the flow. I then did the final test with the old pump, hooking it up to a hose, sorting out the pressure switch (needed to find a way to replace its little hose) and hooking it up to the garden sprinkler. Well, it works. There's enough pressure up there even using the garden hose. Do I need two systems ? Do I need a backup ? No and no. I am my father's son.
No, I didn't ride. Tomorrow.
