Jan 2/3 - into Sudbury

Nothing much happened on the balance of the 1st and all of the 2nd other than Sandy working full time for two days cleaning and washing.  Towels and sheets all needed to be done.  We headed into Sudbury on the 3rd for groceries, hitting Costco and the Independent Store - YIG, as it shows up on my credit card.  Your Independent Grocer. We also picked up another bag of Cassie food at Pet Food Warehouse.

This was our time to stock up for the next few days and Florida.  There are a few things that are staples in Florida that we bring with us - Sandy's cereal, olive oil, canned wild sockeye salmon, china lily soya sauce, no-name 1kg dates, balderson cheddar cheese ... probably more but I'm forgetting.  They are accumulating in the basement ready to load in the car at the end of the week.  Luckily it's going to be mild so I don't have to leave it all to the last minute.

I tried bringing the 4-wheeler down to the lake but that wasn't successful.  Getting there was ok - down the hill.  Being there was useless - too much slush.  Getting back became a winch job, 20' at a time up the hill, a real PITA.  Oh well.  It was worth a try.

Annemarie and Ron brought over water containers to be filled.  10x1 gallon and 1x5 gallon.  Those are going back to Sudbury with them.  They hate Sudbury water.

Today, Jason, Lorraine, Kim, Graham and Chili arrive and expect to stay until Wednesday.  We should have a good time.  We always do.

It seems that Jim and Joanne are recovering from Covid.  They are very lucky.  Jim ended up in the hospital for a short stint.  I was just reading about a LA Congressman-elect 41 years old who came down with it shortly before Christmas and has passed away.  He had no underlying conditions.  People started queuing up or vaccine at Daytona International Speedway almost a day before they're due to open.  Time will tell when we are able to come back here as I'm hoping that by then we'll have been vaccinated and covid will be on the wane.  Time will tell.

Onward.
