Jan 4-7 - coming and going

Not us; the Davies.  Jason, Lorraine, Kim and Graham and Chili arrived on Monday, leaving on Wednesday.  We had really mild temperatures which made it nice for walking but the lake was slushy.  Quite a contrast with this morning, temps at 1F.

As always, we ate well.  The gang brought snacks; Sandy did lamb the first night and salmon the second.  Sandy and I then took a rest and had salmon again last night.

It was Graham's birthday on Wednesday but they were going to be gone by dinner, so we had a cake on Tuesday, much to Graham's surprise.  In fact it was a real surprise because Lo came out with the cake with lit candles but G had already gone upstairs.  Kim had to fetch him before the candles turned into puddles.

Kim and G gave a pair of snowshoes a workout; the rest of us did a combination of lake and road walking.  The easiest going was in snowmobile tracks because the snow is deep.  We said hello to Art and Marilyn at one turnaround up his driveway to the road.  On another walk we chatted with Matt, Shelley and their granddaughter Autumn.  Troups were in and I went into their porch yelling hello ... but they must have been out on their snow machines; no answer.

Yesterday I partly packed the trailer.  There's more to go in but it's cold.  The rest of the packing may wait until tomorrow a.m. before we leave.  Our intent is to stay overnight with Jason as we won't get out of here very early.  We'll head to Jeffrey's on Sunday ...

... at least that's the plan ... nothing cast in stone.

Onward.
