Feb 6-9 - one down

We received our first dose of Moderna on Monday Feb 8.  That day there were no ill effects to speak of.  On the day after, there was some noticeable soreness in that upper arm.  Today it's worse, simply feels like someone punched me there, not debilitating.

My back, on the other hand, is debilitating.  I saw Dr Keller yesterday and she prescribed a NSAID painkiller.  I can't get a steroid like cortisone as it would blunt the immune response to the Moderna.  Dang.  Two weeks she says.

The timed release painkiller didn't do anything; I had a bad night.  Perhaps it did do something and it would have been worse ? Sitting, standing, lying down in every possible position, I was beside myself.  Finally I added two ibuprofen to the mix as it was getting worse and worse and got a couple of hours sleep from after 4 to after 6.

She figures that it's a pinched nerve.  I was right on that score, assuming that she's right :).  However, it's not sciatica which causes pain at the back of the knee where mine is in the front.  Backwards sciatia ?  Anyway, I didn't have time yesterday to get xrays but will go back today.  She doesn't expect to see anything but if there's a compression fracture or something else going on, the image should help.  She wants me to ice it (tried that), painkiller and it should go away.

This.is.not.fun.  I.don't.want.to.get.old.
